School of Educational Studies and Human Development
The School offers a range of education courses in undergraduate areas of initial teacher education and in the Faculty of Arts. Postgraduate courses in teaching and learning, special education, educational leadership, and counselling are offered culminating in Graduate Diplomas, Masters and PhD awards.
School of Māori, Social and Cultural Studies in Education
We have expertise in areas of Māori immersion education, cultural studies, social science education and early childhood education. A range of courses in initial teacher education and postgraduate study are available.
School of Literacies and Arts in Education
Our school specialises in literacy and English education, children's literature, music, visual arts, performing arts, dance, and ICT in education. In addition, we offer e-Learning and professional development for distance education.
School of Sciences and Physical Education
Our school offers courses related to Science, Health Education, Technology, Environmental Studies, Mathematics, Physical Education, Outdoor and Environmental Education and Sport Coaching. We also contribute significantly to PhD and Masters programmes and have particular research strength in Science Education, Health Education, Physical Education, Sport Coaching and Olympic Studies.
Health Sciences Centre
The Health Sciences Centre fosters health related interdisciplinary and collaborative initiatives, within the University, with other tertiary education providers and with the health sector. The Centre has undergraduate courses and postgraduate programmes and research activities that respond to the dynamic nature of the health sector and its workforce.
UC Education Plus
The primary role of UC Education Plus is to provide quality professional learning and development to educators working in schools and early childhood settings within our regions.
Centre for Evaluation and Monitoring (CEM)
The CEM (NZ) centre provides high quality statistical measurement and value added analysis for schools. CEM (NZ) is committed to applying best standards for its top quality tests, questionnaires, analysis and indicator systems.
