BEd/GradDipTchLn (Secondary) specialising in Performing Arts

Year Four, 2008

Your College of Education requirements for 2008 are heavier than in 2007 with a corresponding decrease in wider University commitments. The 2008 year is where the professional aspects to your degree have priority over all other study. Your focus this year should be on the development of your teaching knowledge base and your ability to apply it in the teaching situation.

This year you have more flexibility in course choice from the Graduate Diploma in Teaching and Learning (Secondary) programme. In effect your year will be very similar to the GradDipTchLn(Secondary) graduates and in many cases you may have combined classes with them.

In 2008 you will have two teaching sections (11 weeks total). Please be prepared to travel out of Christchurch for these.

Venue: College of Education, Drama Workshop 1

1. You should have enrolled in GradDipTchLn(Secondary) courses from the University of Canterbury Enrolment Handbook. Any changes to your selection can be made at this meeting.
2. On Thursday 7 February, there will also be Teaching Studies briefings. This is designed for GradDipTchLn(Secondary) students. Please attend these sessions if you are unsure of your course selections.
