Community Service
Children's Literature staff offer a range of services within the local, national and international community.
The following details the types of services staff have provided:
- Display and guest lectures of Victorian children's literature for local Books and Beyond festival
- Guest workshops for National Library Advisors in schools (primary and secondary)
- Guest lectures for the National College of Design and Technology (Christchurch) on picture book design
- Guest lectures for in-service teacher training at UC College of Education in terms of the health curriculum
- Guest lectures for Victoria University's Master of Library and Information Studies degree
- Reviews of New Zealand fiction and non fiction publications for the Australian Children's Book Council's journal Reading Time
- Consultancy for READ Educational Trust (South Africa) and the University of Pretoria in terms of future qualification enhancement
- Consultancy for the University of Pretoria's future honours programme in children's literature
- Consultancy for NZ Book Sellers Association with regard to NZ Post Book Awards
- Book Week contributions for local schools
- Hosting ACLAR international conference.
