These qualifications prepare participants to teach and support e-learning, focusing on knowledge and skills in educational design, multimedia, teaching pedagogy, technology and community development. All compulsory courses are offered online, with flexible learning occurring within a supportive web-based community.
The GradCertAeTS provides participants with the essential skills of e-teaching and support, working collaboratively with colleagues and staff in an e-learning space. An internship project allows participants to apply their learning to their own situation.
The GradDipAeTS provides participants with the essential skills of e-teaching and support, and the opportunity to explore specialist areas in greater detail through optional courses. Participants will work collaboratively in an e-learning space, and the qualification culminates in an internship where participants will work on an authentic project which is relevant to their work or other areas of interest.
Participants who have some experience in e-teaching and e-technology may enrol on the PGCertAeTS. Participants will undertake research and provide leadership in their specific areas of interest, for example issues of e-community development and the e-teaching and technology nexus.
The PGDipAeTS provides participants who have some experience in e-teaching and e-technology with opportunities to undertake research and provide leadership in their specific areas of interest. It will allow participants both to develop theoretical understandings of their specialist areas of interest and to apply these to their own work. Participants will select appropriate optional courses from those available within New Zealand.
