The following dimensions apply to assessment within all courses in the degree.
Study within the MTchLn requires the demonstration of:
This should be founded in a critical analysis of both the literature (theoretical, anecdotal, commentary, and research) and the student's own professional experience and the student's own professional experience.
This could include a critical understanding of the political, social, ideological, epistemological bases and contexts of a course's content material, or it could refer to involvement in debate related to the theory or research methods employed in the field.
This is the ability to critically analyse and evaluate practice in relation to theory and vice versa, and to adopt/defend/implement professional practices based on a particular theoretical or ideological standpoint.
This involves demonstrating skill in research design, implementation and evaluation. It includes the critical analysis of the research of others as well as the design, performance and evaluation of their own research.
All written, visual and oral presentations are expected to be prepared to a high standard. They should be free of spelling and grammatical errors and should conform to the conventions of their particular genre. Citations and references should conform to APA style.
